Hear a Million aims to reach the lives of 1 million Deaf people in India, with a goal of empowering them to lead productive lives, throughout their lifecycle, from childhood to adulthood and more.
Hear A Million has a vision to reach and empower the deaf community in India, through research and the power of collectives, i.e., contribution and support from all the stakeholders in the deaf ecosystem!
POWER OF THE COLLECTIVES
The goal of building a collective community is to include partners and allies who shall have the opportunity to work together to achieve the common vision of empowering a million deaf, in years to come. We, as a collective, will develop a DEAF-CENTRIC vision. Together, we can and we will, break the wall of barriers for the deaf in India!
HEAR A MILLION'S PARTNERS
Hear A Million is collating ‘best practices’ in the following areas, which will empower deaf individuals and deaf organisations to serve the deaf better. The aim is that no one in India remains ignorant of what’s already been researched on, piloted and which proved to be of benefit to the deaf lives.

EVENTS FOR COLLECTIVE MEMBERS AND DEAF COMMUNITY
The purpose of tech nights is to provide the insights and feedback from the deaf individuals and allies to the tech developers. The goal is that the deaf community leaders validate the products or services that would elevate accessibility needs of the deaf.
The word itself means “brainstorming”. It is a quarterly event where the collective members gather together and brainstorm their thoughts and feedback on various topics that are potential best practices. Become a Member!
Events organized for engaging
the larger deaf community. The collective members shall be given a special invite for events as well as a platform for hosting such events.
Hear A Million ensures voices of the deaf are heard before deciding anything for the deaf community. Baseline Research Report has been completed which is analysis of responses from around 800 deaf individuals of their experience
in Early Intervention, Education to Employment.
Hear A Million has developed an intense curriculum on topics that are crucial for the deaf living empowered lives, such as knowledge on Deaf Culture/ History, and Self-Awareness/ Advocacy skills. A team of experienced Deaf trainers deliver the course.
A Deafline is a helpline service curated for the deaf individuals who seek information, recommendations or providing communication support for deaf-specific issues.
A Forum for deaf organizations, leaders, experts, individuals and allies is curated. It is a space where the community can interact with each other and solve each other’s issues in bilingual modes. (The Forum is currently in the pilot stage).
